Camp out in Chicago - It’s union workers

Over 200 employees that work at Republic Windows and Doors factory in Chicago are having a sit-in. They say they are not leaving without assurance they will be paid the severance and vacation pay owed to them.
Factory workers were given 3 days notice that the factory would be closing down. Workers blame Bank of America because BOA was the primary lender to the factory and cut off credit. Some workers carried signs saying “You got a bail out, we got sold out”.
It’s sad that the workers lost their job, but the bank has to do it’s job and use their best judgement at lending money. They can’t lend money to a factory that isn’t going to be able to pay it back. The workers just need to start looking for another job instead of wasting their time sitting in the factory and whining about how they aren’t going to be able to pay for rent. Get off of your butt and start finding a source of income to pay your rent. They are losing 3 days by just having a sit-in.
In a statement by BOA they commented that they have no control of whether a company complies with applicable laws or honors commitments to it’s employees. There is no reason to start blaming a bank because they will not lend money to your employer to pay you. These people are selfish and have sense of self-entitlement.
Unions are crumbling this nation. I read that most of the of the workers are spanish speaking and there was even a 13 yr old girl working. I’m not sure if they are legal immigrants or illegal, but if they are illegal they should definitely not be awarded a dime and deported until they can come back legally.
Just my take.
