Run like an efficient company?

September 05, 07 by Stealthy

Running your personal finances are not too much different than running the finances of a business. We all want to improve the bottom line right? We want to generate higher income every year. We want to cut expenses. Right?

Well right now I’m working on setting up my personal finances to where I look at myself as a company. I’ll be issuing 10,000 shares, but I will own all of them. I’m still working on it and hopefully will have it complete by next week or the week after. I know I already have the income statements and balance sheets on the site, but I want to just compare it using different business formulas and even with a stock price. I know your probably asking how am I going to have a stock price with me being the only owner. Well I’ll discuss how I plan on doing that later once I come out with the final plan.

Who knows…maybe I’ll do an annual report.  :D

Until next time have a great next few days!

I like this concept, I was thinking something along this line for myself, but I never wrote it done or actually do anything about it.

I think it will be a good way to measure growth in income year over year or even quarter over quarter. I would like to have debt to income ratios and others to view progress each year. I think an annual report of my progress would be cool, but VERY time consuming.

I think you should go for it! Try it and tinker the system to something that would work for you.

If you ever want me to e-mail you my templates just let me know.

PS. I would like to create a source of income from dividends and other investments to grow my bottom line instead of just a small pay increase.

Cool idea. It seems to be getting back to your original question of what if people were traded on the stock market.

Yup, that’s what I’m going back to.
